About Me
Intro
There's a lot about me that "used to be." I used to be the number one ranked party school in the nation. (This year I'm number ten.) I also used to be smaller, with less dorms, less students, and a less attractive winning football record. I used to be a small-town university with a whole lot less competition from my neighboring colleges, universities and trade schools.
I was a single campus and my main drag was Mill Avenue, minus the Urban Outfitters, P.F. Chang's, and other industry-standard upscale shopping and dining.
I've reformed, changed my ways. I guess I've grown up, and grown rich. I'm five campuses strong and I've also got an attractive online presence. There's parking lots where cacti used to be, and new dorms and buildings for students who aren't allowed to commute to me anymore.
Some fancy new apartments and condos went up around my Tempe Town Lake area where there's a 5K every other weekend. I'm the new Abercrombie & Fitch around these parts. It's getting pretty hot over here, and that's not just the weather.

I'm totally the big guy on campus. I have over 76,000 students enrolled, so yeah, I'm kind of a people person. At the Tempe campus, my main campus, there are over 62,000. Also, 80% of my students are undergraduates.
What can I say, I'm young and free and I like to have fun.
Most of my students are residents here in the Grand Canyon state and they go here full-time. I'm an urban kiddo. Tempe is a mid-sized city with all the attraction and glam of the big city. I'm quite charming, but I am also a total busy body.
Current Living Situation
If you visited my dorms maybe a decade or two ago, you'd think you were on the set of That 70s Show. Not much had changed since the original Manzanita Hall and Palo Verde towers were built. Older alumni used to joke and say living on campus was for people who went to college but didn't really go to school. Also, most of my students commuted.
Things have since changed. We went from having small, shoebox-sized dorms to newer, hipper, and (most importantly) bigger rooms. We've also added on-campus dining and a super sweet tech building. I hardly recognize myself anymore.
Relationship Status
There's something you should know about me. I hate U of A. I mean, I've always hated him. I want to take that stupid Wildcat and drag him through Tempe Town Lake on the back of my electric boat (there are no gas engines allowed on the lake).
That snooty University of Arizona has a medical school and he's always shoving it in my face. I can't stand that guy. We're enemies. Rivals. Evil twins…? Well, maybe not that last one. Listen, just know that if you come to me, you sneer at him, got it?
